Warm Up with Marie Callender’s Pot Pies

Living in New England is amazing; those snow covered days where everything seems to be wrapped in fluffy white frosting and you can’t wait to get outside to make a snow man with the kids. But, after the fun is over and it’s time to go back inside – the chill can follow you. That’s the time we most enjoy a hot, savory lunch as we warm up together and laugh about the afternoon we’ve had. One of our favorites is pot pies. It’s a fast and easy way for everyone to get just what they want wrapped up in a flaky, buttery crust.

As much as I love to create a pot pie from scratch, I don’t always have the time and my family doesn’t always have the patience. Marie Callender’s Pot Pies — filled with juicy meat, tender vegetables and a signature golden, flaky crust made from scratch — offer a healthy alternative to homemade that warms you from the inside out.

The preservative-free meals come in 7 savory flavors:

Chicken
Turkey
Beef
Creamy Mushroom Chicken
Creamy Parmesan Chicken
Honey Roasted Chicken
and Cheesy Chicken

The pies cook right in the crisping tray and go from freezer to table in just minutes. I even noticed a bit of extra golden toasting around the edges which gave it that fresh from the oven flavor. The crust was flaky and not soggy or chewy like some other frozen pot pie brands. I was especially pleased with the amount of vegetables in each pot pie; the thick cut carrots were my favorite – left with a slight crunch like I’d steamed them myself.

I was worried at first that the portions wouldn’t be enough to feed a hungry husband and 14 year old son, but they said it was the perfect amount for lunch after a cold day outside. My husband said a pot pie with a side salad and dessert would be more than sufficient for him at dinner time. Our teenager asked if he could eat them at night (since teenagers are always hungry) and I thought that was a great idea; much healthier than the chips or microwave burrito he usually reaches for.

We really enjoy Marie Callender’s Pot Pies and we’ve already put additional flavors on our shopping list so we can stock up for the even colder weather that is soon to come our way. I’m also going to add some of the small Fruit Pies and Dessert Pies & Cobblers also offered. I think they’d make a great family movie night treat.

Marie Callender’s Pot Pies, meals and desserts are available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.10-$2.99.

  1. All I’ve eaten today is cookies because I’ve been so busy baking, I didn’t feel like cooking lunch or dinner. LOL I wish I had one of these in my freezer!
