Jamaica Here I Come

Sandy beaches, hot sun and cool rhythms…. that will be my world in just two days. TWO DAYS! Thanks to the wonderful members of the Jamaican Tourist Board and the amazing support of AccidentalMommies.comI’m going to Jamaica!

I’ve never been outside the US so you can only imagine how excited I am to spend five glorious days as a personal guest to one of the most beautiful islands in the world. I set out at 6:30 am on Wednesday, October 5th – which means I will be getting out of bed at 3:00 am. Ouch. Only Jamaica could get me out of bed that early….that and my two year old. After one layover I’ll reach my tropical paradise around noon and have most of the day to explore and settle in.

jamaica flagWhy am I going? Good question. The Jamaican Tourist Board (JTB) is hosting their next Blogger Meetup in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Bloggers from around the country are invited to be honored guests at one of the many fantastic, all inclusive resorts available on the island. We’ll be shown all of the sights, experience the activities available and be able to sample all of the delicious cuisine served daily in the many restaurants along the way.

I get to take you with me!…well, sort of. I’ll be blogging my trip as the days progress. I’ll be sure to tell you all about our daily treks and give you first hand examples through photos and video. I’m honored to have this opportunity and thrilled to be able to share it with you, my readers. Don’t forget to keep an eye out on Twitter as well; I’ll be tweeting during the day and keeping you updated on all the fabulous things there are for families to do on Jamaica – because “once you go, you know“.
