[Giveaway Closed]
This weekend I think little man loved us a little bit more than usual. Like most toddlers, he loves bright lights, music and being where all the action is. What better place to find all three than Chuck E Cheese’s? He’s not quite old enough to know what we’re talking about, even though we still told him all morning that we were going. I think he was excited just to be getting in the car; that’s fun for him as well. He’s been to Chuck E Cheese’s once before, not long ago – so we were not disappointed when he realized what was happening as we pulled into the parking lot and he saw the giant sign. Once inside – hands safely stamped at the door – he bolted right over to his favorite game: the basketball smash, as we call it. What two year old doesn’t like to hit things with big sticks?

Next was the police car ride and built in video game. He didn’t pay much attention to the game, but those flashing lights and motor sounds definitely got his attention!

What could POSSIBLY make this kid happier??
Food. And lots of it.
By that time both Dan and I were absolutely starving so we pulled little man away from the toddler games area and made our way over to order our pizza. Chuck E Cheese was awesome enough to send us a family fun guest pass for the day so we got to pick ANY pizza we wanted (dangerous!) with sodas AND tokens. Nice! Now, we are not your typical pizza household. We love our pizza, enjoy a random assortment of toppings and we’re rather picky. Being in New England, we have a wide selection of some of the best hand tossed, fresh topping pizzas around.
We ordered half with pepperoni, jalapenos and pineapple (Dan’s choice) and the other half with chicken, mushrooms and pineapple (my choice). I know…we are weird about our pizza. We knew Chuck E Cheese had recently launched a brand new pizza recipe – so we had to make sure we were going to test it to the fullest! No easy cheese and hamburger request here!
Our pizza looked amazing (and, thank goodness, arrived quickly):
But how would it taste? Dan was far more skeptical than me. He hadn’t enjoyed the pizza from our last visit very much (he’s super picky!). But he promised to give this one his best shot.
I think he liked it……
And so did I and little man (he was so proud that he got to hold an entire slice by himself!) The crust was crispy and light and when you bit into it – it didn’t feel chewy or hard. It also had a nice buttery taste to it. Definitely an improvement on the former recipe. The toppings were fresh and plentiful and they weren’t drenched in tomato sauce. We were STUFFED when we finished. I have to admit…I went on to eat that last piece even after I took the photo. It was delicious. So what was Dan’s final verdict? “This tastes like someone actually made it by hand instead of the frozen taste most family center pizza has. I’m impressed.” (which is saying a lot for his picky pallet!)
All in all we had a great time and stuffed our faces with some great pizza. And Chuck E Cheese’s wants 3 of my readers to take their family for the same treat!
